REPORTING CRIME & ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
NOISY NEIGHBOURS

If you are having problems with your neighbours because of their behaviour or the
behaviour of visitors to their property you could try talking to them and tell them how this
is affecting you.
If you are unable to do this or have tried without success you should ring
Tameside Environmental Protection Services on 0161 342 2697 to report noise nuisance
problems.

There's also a free confidential 24 hour helpline for tenants of New Charter
Housing Trust to report anti-social behaviour - Telephone 0800 371830
.

For residents of Tameside to report anti-social behaviour -
Telephone 0161 342 8355 during office hours.

YOUTHS CAUSING ANNOYANCE
If the behaviour of youths is causing you concern please report this to -
GMP on 0161 872 5050.
Your call will be logged and a police officer will be allocated to attend subject to
other priorities at that time. If this is a regular occurrence you could report this to your
local police team for attention when patrols are available but please remember that this
number is NOT a response number, and there may not be anyone to take your call
when you ring. But, you will be able to leave a message with your contact details for us
to get back to you. If you feel in any danger for yourself or your property you should
always ring 999.

CRIME
If there is a crime occurring NOW you should ring 999. For example if you can hear
fighting outside your home and weapons are involved. However, If you have returned to
your home and discovered a burglary for example, ring 0161 872 5050 unless you
suspect that the burglar may still be in you home in which case you must not go in but
ring 999.

If you want to report a crime anonymously for example drug dealing then you
can do so by ringing Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. When reporting crime you need to
bear in mind the following:
• What has happened/is happening?
• Where it happened/is happening?
• Who was/is involved? Age, sex, ethnicity, distinguishing marks/features and what they
were/are wearing
